I’m discovering my blogging path isn’t all seashells and Chanel…my tugboat man and I are both ardent animal activists — no, he doesn’t eat meat either, and abhors hunting or killing of animals. Hunting is not a sport. My tough merchant mariner is proud to stand up for and defend animals. What an awesome man I’m married to.

On behalf of my better-half, and our two MainCoon cats, the male of which definitely has a voice (haven’t quite figured out if it’s a tenor trying to be a duck, or he swallowed one and decided to hang on to it for sound effects, but a voice he has) we all agree to your way of thinking, and we support you completely.

Absolutely I so wish too, but as long as man can so easily kill his fellowmen for personal gain, how can we expect he be concerned for the well being or survival of defenseless animals. In many ways we are a sad creature, for we are the only the species whose prime motivation to kill is for pleasure or personal gain. Alas as opposed to all other creatures who do so for survival, or out of fear for their well being. JJ
