SNOW
It might not be a big deal to a lot of you who experience snow every winter, but snow falling to around one thousand feet in the foothills of our valleys and mountains is a big deal for this Southern California girl!
An arctic storm brought a lot of snow down to almost record breaking levels; of course I needed to end 2014 with a snowball fight. The snow was amazingly light and fluffy.
A winter wonderland and only about twenty minutes away!
Great pictures and glad that you had fun. Hard to believe but we don’t have snow yet here in northern IL. No snow in December or so far this year. Our grass is green! Heard we might get some later this weekend.

That’s strange for your part of the country, right? I hope you get some snow only if you like it!

Yes, it is strange. Usually we get it by Thanksgiving. It’s pretty when it’s only a few inches. When we get the big storms it’s nice to stay in!

Absolutely a wonderland. Where I live in South Africa we get a sort of snow every ten years . On that day we all go crazy 😀

I heard there were lines of cars waiting for 6 hours to get to the snow, talk about crazy! We took a totally different road and had no traffic! Happy New Year at you in South Africa!

It was truly wonderful as an end to 2014!

Obviously, the snow is lost. It should be here, but wandered off. It’s the only possible explanation.

Well, I’d send some to you if you miss it, or you can come and visit it here. Your choice!

Better you than I. I loathe snow.

How can you loathe snow? Like all the time, I remember it got a bit monotonous and I’d go crazy locked up in the house, but it’s so pure and beautiful at least for a while. Right???

As long as it is on pretty pictures, I am all for snow 😉

It must be a treat seeing snow in your neck of the woods. Here in NJ it’s pretty but a pain when you have to go out in it. Luckily we haven’t had any yet this year at the shore, but today’s sky looks a bit like some precipitation…

Hey! My son is teaching at Rutgers now, isn’t that in NJ? I’m going to fly back to visit him (I follow him everywhere) as soon as he’s all settled in.

Yes it is!!! My stepson’s girlfriend is a student at the Newark campus but your son is probably in New which is about an hour, hour and a half from me. Let me know when you’re flying out-we should meet up at a vegan restaurant!

I will def do that! Yes, he’s at the main campus.

We still haven’t had our first snowfall of the season her on the West Coast of Canada. It’s always a magical event to watch everything turn white. Your pictures are beautiful.
