Everybody needs some bliss; especially ME when tugboat man comes home unexpectedly and then even more shocking, gets a call to return to work WHILE WE’RE DRIVING HOME FROM THE AIRPORT!
It’s not unheard of in the maritime world, but I’ve not really experienced it until now.
Glass half full; we had an enjoyable one-and-a-half days. Thirty-six hours is better than nothing.
It’s important to stay positive and present in the moment, rather than dwelling on the injustice, which would be a waste of time, and TIME is precious.
So he’s gone again and it’s time for a little bliss in the form of Mother Nature.
Breathe deeply and OMMMMMM….
Butterflies…
Bee on buckwheat.
Bunny trying to get into the vegetable garden.
I also saw a baby bunny running around, but couldn’t snap a pic before he ran under the deck.
Baby announcement!
The ultimate blissful event is the birth of one of my resident hummingbird’s eggs; you can BARELY see a miniature fluffy speck huddled in the bottom of the nest.
And JUST NOW, the second egg hatched! Could anything be more amazing than Mother Nature?
Here’s an update: Pretty good close up video of the two newborn hummingbirds:
Ending with the B is for Bliss theme, a boat birdhouse.
At least THIS boat is firmly anchored and will stay in one place, right?
After the rain; blue sky bliss.
Gone in the blink of an eye; it’s as if he was never here, except that he fixed a couple of my car’s minor problems and I have more laundry than usual.
Tugboat man should be home for sure at the end of June; at that point he’ll have been out to sea for more than ninety days when it was only supposed to be for six weeks.
Such is the life of a tugboat captain’s wife.

OMG! Wow! Yes…occupational hazard. You are doing the right thing. Go with the flow. Better for your health. xo

True dat, especially when there’s nothing to be done about it. It’s no one’s fault.

Yup, we had a camping trip planned for next week with my son/DIL but I’m going to take a train to meet them, so everything will work out.

I know! We feel as proud as if we’ve actually done something! They grow very fast, I hope they’ll still be around at the end of June, but I’m taking a lot of video in case they fly away. PS Just added video to this post that I took today.

The baby hummingbirds are amazing! Tugboat man getting called back is not…your positive attitude in light of it all is inspiring.

Thank you! You have to be positive to be in this biz. It was no one’s fault, not really, just the way it worked out. If we spent all of our time being upset, we’d lose even more time.

I think what I love more than the baby bird pics and video is your lemonade out of lemons attitude!
…and that adorable boat bird feeder!

I didn’t even expect him home at all, so it was a huge gift to be together for even 36 hours, is the way I look at it. And a bottle of champs helps everything, right? I’m only annoyed that we live so far from the airport and it’s such a long drive!

I’m so glad he was here to see our little hummingbird miracle, too, I think he was most excited about that! It was nice that his company flew him home, even if just for a day or so, everyone thought it was going to be for at least a week, but that’s the nature of the biz.

Can you believe it? On the way HOME from the airport!!! He had warned me a long time ago that sometimes it’s been known to happen that they get called back at the airport, so I’m always sort of prepared, but this time just glad he was home to share a bottle of champs on my bday!
