Not surprising it’s one of your favorites. The 1st thing that struck me was, “Rothko did photography, too?” It has that sacred ashen feel full of life in its contrast, and in the ways it all lives together in the image. Very alive, and very powerful.

We had set up camp, ate dinner, went for a walk and put the little guy to bed, and it was light until at least 9pm. Such a strange and compelling light, I’m glad my little phone could even sort of capture the magic.
