Stars are dropping thick as stones into the twiggy
Picket of trees whose silhouette is darker
Than the dark of the sky because it is quite starless.
The woods are a well. The stars drop silently.

What a beautiful scene this poem portrays, and the picture is whimsical. I love it!
(sorry I haven’t been commenting for the past week. I’ve been having radiotherapy. I have the weekend to myself before having next week’s sessions.)

Thank you for those healing thoughts!
It’s skin cancer, but a lesser aggressive form than melanoma. I had surgery for it last October, but some still remained, so having some radiotherapy to see it off.

Oh, I totally understand! I’ve had my share of basel/squamous cell skin cancer too! Heal fast!

I’m sorry you’ve had to go through it too. This one is squamous cell carcinoma. Now I know why applying sunscreen is so important. 🙂

Totally! I get checked every six months now. In my case, my skin is paying the price for all summer at the beach every single year! The g-kids are always covered up so at least the parents learned more than I did!

I agree, people are more aware of sun damage nowadays.

I remember my RN mom always telling me to stay out of the sun cos I’d end up with skin damage and wrinkles but never listened to her.

When I was a child, no one gave sun protection a second thought. My mother was like me, being very fair skinned. She loved to take the opportunity to sit out in the sun whenever possible and went on foreign holidays to countries which had a red hot climate. Yet, she never had any skin problems. I was the opposite to her and couldn’t bear the full heat of the sun, and stayed in the shade as much as possible. It’s ironic.
