It’s the end of August, time for another full moon and she’s already shining big and bright in the night sky, this time with the added bonus of a partial lunar eclipse.
The weather here in SoCal has been miserable. We’ve had a veryvery hot summer with record temps, which normally isn’t so bad, but the humidity has been sky high and that makes it nearly intolerable, especially at night. We normally only have a dry heat — Santa Ana — which is hot but pleasant, but this moist air is so draining. Since I don’t have A/C, I’ve resorted to a fan to sleep since it never really cools off.
On top of the heat, we haven’t had rain in months. I’ve given up on the garden because there’s really no point in fighting the drought, especially since our water is so expensive. I’d have to literally spend hours a day watering, mostly to no avail since it immediately dries up. The rats and bunnies have taken their toll too, and I’m not sure what the cosmic message is, but I won’t resist it, whatever it is.
Enough ranting about the weather…

This full Sturgeon Moon will be special because the Earth’s shadow will swallow 96% of the lunar surface overnight on Aug. 27-28, potentially coloring the moon a gorgeous bright red as it bathes in light filtered and refracted by our planet’s atmosphere.
The partial lunar eclipse will occur as Earth passes between the sun and moon during the full moon. Around this time, Earth’s curved inner shadow will appear to creep across the lunar surface while leaving a thin crescent exposed to direct sunlight at the point of maximum eclipse.
For stargazers on the west coast of the United States, the point of maximum eclipse will arrive just a few hours after sunset, while anyone watching from the east coast will hopefully see the lunar spectacle peak around midnight.
The spiritual significance of the August Sturgeon Moon is all about resilience, inner strength, and processing deep emotional truths.
Unlike a solar eclipse, no safety glasses will be necessary.
This highly anticipated spiritual and astrological event aligns the Sun in Leo, the bright star Sirius, and the Earth, creating a powerful window for manifestation.

There’s a reason so many people circle August 8th on their calendar each year.
The Lion’s Gate Portal (July 26-Aug 12) is widely regarded as one of the most powerful energetic windows of the year for manifestation and the single most magical day of the entire year for calling our dreams into being.
Many believe this alignment symbolizes a time of expanded awareness, greater clarity, and the chance to intentionally shape what’s next.
This year’s portal invites us to align more closely with the life we hope to create. Whether we’re calling in a chapter of greater abundance, deeper relationships, renewed purpose, or simply more peace, the Lion’s Gate is an invitation to move forward with greater intention. If we feel more intuitive, inspired, emotional, or ready for change, we may already notice this energy.
As the portal opens fully, the veil between the seen and the unseen grows thin enough for our intentions to pass straight through, and this year the opening is wider and more charged than it has felt in a very long time.
There is a rare kind of alchemy hidden inside this particular date. Eight is the number of infinity turned on its side, the number of abundance, of energy leaving and returning multiplied, and here it appears twice, magnifying its power beyond measure at the exact moment the portal opens.
This year also carries the vibration of one, since 2026 reduces to a single 1, the number of new beginnings and untouched pages. Abundance and a brand new chapter are merging into one rare, charged moment, which means whatever we call in today becomes the cornerstone of an entirely new life.
Far overhead, Sirius, the star our ancestors called the Spiritual Sun, moves into alignment with our own Sun and with the ground beneath our feet. The Egyptians built temples to honor this exact ascent, believing it the moment the heavens bent low to touch the earth and pour blessings across everything below. That same timeless magic streams toward us now, made even brighter by Leo season — the reign of the radiant heart, of fearless courage, of being seen at last in our full and dazzling light.
Today is the day to ask for everything our hearts have kept hidden in silence. Speak what our soul has been too afraid to say out loud and release it into the air.
The portal responds to certainty, so stand in it as someone who already holds what they are calling in, moving and speaking from a place of calm knowing instead of longing. Whatever intention we set today threads itself permanently into the story of our future.
Between August 8th and the total solar eclipse on August 12th unfolds the most enchanted window of our whole year. An eclipse in Leo arrives to close one chapter of our life and opens another, peaking just as the Lions Gate reaches its highest.
Rest, surround ourselves with softness, give thanks to the sun, and hold our hearts wide open, because our energy right now is the exact frequency the Universe leans in to answer.
Something miraculous is turning toward us now, and the portal leads into a life we may have only ever glimpsed in our most hopeful dreams.
Walk through the portal with confidence because very star and planet in the cosmos has arranged itself to let us know that the wonderful things arriving were always, beyond any shadow of any doubt, meant for us.
I don’t know what crime I could have committed to justify this shingles pain in my leg, but I’m SORRY. The agony is unrelenting, which is making me delirious. It feels like being stabbed with a thousand cattle prods, not that I know what that feels like, of course.
In addition to the Full Strawberry Moon, we’re dong another Mercury Retrograde until July 23, this time in the emotional sign of Cancer, and because of that, the focus is largely on internal and emotional processing rather than just external tech and travel glitches (though those can still happen).
The powerful combination of the Strawberry Moon and Mercury Retrograde brings a period of reflection, emotional healing, and personal transformation.
The Strawberry Full Moon symbolizes abundance, sweetness, gratitude, and the harvest of early summer. From Indigenous traditions, the name honors the peak season for wild strawberries. Spiritually, it invites us to celebrate our hard work, savor the present, and release patterns that no longer serve.
I really wanted to delve into any other reasons for this debiliiating nerve issue…
Spiritually, shingles is widely viewed as a profound mind-body wake-up call, often signaling that your nervous system is deeply depleted and that you have been ignoring your body’s quieter warnings to slow down.
Shingles are indicated by their telltale blisters: angry, painful wounds rising from beneath the skin. It is something hidden deep within that is deciding, right now, to rise to the surface to be seen and felt.
Shingles often flare up after prolonged periods of intense stress, emotional exhaustion, or unresolved trauma. It represents internal turmoil—such as hidden grief, suppressed anger, or guilt—rising to the surface to be acknowledged.
So all of that led me to wonder why it was only on my right leg, and why that’s the side I injured when I fell UP…
In many holistic and metaphysical traditions, injuries on the right leg symbolize an imbalance related to taking action, moving forward in the world, or masculine (yang) energy. The right side of the body generally represents the “doing” side, while the left side is the “feeling” side .
Core Spiritual Themes of Right Leg Injuries:
Resistance to Moving Forward: Because the legs provide locomotion, repeated right leg injuries may suggest a subconscious hesitation to take the next step in your career, relationships, or life path. You may feel “stuck” in a specific situation.
Masculine Energy Imbalance: The right side is traditionally associated with “yang” or masculine energy, which governs drive, assertiveness, and logic. Injuries here might point to a struggle with assertiveness or conflict with male figures in your life .
Root Chakra Imbalance: The legs and hips are governed by the root chakra (Muladhara), which controls your sense of physical safety, stability, and grounding. Injuries here can indicate a deep-seated fear of instability or an inability to feel grounded in your daily life.
While all of that is interesting information, none of it helps to relieve this agony. I stupidly decided not to take an anti-viral medication because the potential side effects seemed scarier than anything. Instead, I’m using calamine lotion, witch hazel compresses. antihistamine cream, and Tylenol, which offer slight comfort.
Thursday’s full moon is not just bright, it’s rare. The December 4th Cold supermoon is the last time we’ll see one like this until 2042. If the sky is clear, step outside and look up. It will hang low, look huge, and glow brighter than usual.
In the sign of Gemini, this Super Full Moon offers us an opportunity to see with more clarity the impact of the stories we tell ourselves and the narratives that shape our perception of reality.
This heightened lunar ascent symbolizes a lifting of perspective, a culmination that invites us to see our lives from a broader vantage point, to connect the dots and recognize the meaning behind the journey we’ve walked throughout the year.
Tonight will also reveal a powerful moment in the sky as the Moon meets the Seven Sisters, the bright cluster known as the Pleiades.
The Moon slowly passes over each star, hiding them one by one, and this motion creates a sequence that opens a clear channel for our intentions, emotions, and the wishes we carried during the year.
The Universe pays close attention during this alignment and the connection works like a direct line between our heart and the future we want.
Each time the Moon covers a star, the energy around us resets and clears space for something new, and the return of the star sends fresh light into our life with strong forward movement.
Many people feel a shift during this time, such as a burst of hope, a clear idea, or a sense that something important will approach with steady momentum.
These feelings hold meaning because this alignment supports our dreams in a focused way that removes blocks from our path and pushes our story forward.
Choose the manifested desire with strong confidence.
The Universe will arrange the right people, the right moments, and the right opportunities to support the next phase of our path. Alex Myles
Also, in my SoCal area, King Tides return December 4–6. These are some of the highest and lowest tides of the year and create dramatic coastal changes.
Spiritually, a King Tide can symbolize a time of amplified energy, new beginnings and abundance, but it can also represent a force that tests existing structures and compels us to confront powerful emotions and cycles beyond our control. It can signify a period of emotional and spiritual renewal or growth, challenging us to release old ways to embrace a new life flow.
There’s a lot going on…as above, so below, and a perfect time to charge our crystals.
I’m freaked out by Daylight Savings Time. I spend way too long trying to figure what is lost or gained. Nothing makes sense to me. I know I wrote about it before, but TIME itself unsettles me. Sometimes I think that I think too much haha.
On top of THAT timely adjustment, we are experiencing the Supermoon in Taurus as the closest, brightest, and strongest Full Moon of the year, filling the sky with magnetic light that amplifies everything we think, feel, and desire. As a Taurus, I really feel the energetic pull and my dreams are vivid and CRAZY.
Taurus, ruled by Venus, governs stability, wealth, love, and comfort built through patience and effort. When a Supermoon activates this sign, energy transforms quickly, and manifestation becomes clear, direct, and immediate.
Every emotion, thought, and intention carries amplified strength under this influence, shaping what unfolds in our reality with precision. Energy responds directly to our attention, so focus on what deserves to grow.
This Supermoon opens a portal for divine manifestation and real change. What you call in begins forming fast, aligning our life with our higher path. Challenges fade as karmic cycles close, creating stability where uncertainty once lived.
What we envision begins taking physical form. Everything we have been feeling attracts evidence through synchronicity, communication, and opportunity. The Universe matches our vibration with accuracy, reflecting our inner world through events that arrive with perfect timing.
The message of this Moon is simple: our energy instructs the Universe. What we focus on expands, what we fear delays, and what we believe becomes real.
Taurus teaches manifestation through action. This sign builds what it dreams, one clear decision at a time, never rushing the process yet always creating steady progress. The Supermoon magnifies this lesson, asking us to remove distractions and commit fully to what matters.
We may feel inspired to declutter, finish something left undone, or step away from energy that drains our focus. Each decision we make now strengthens our foundation and carries long-term influence, so move with intention and clarity.
Manifestation gains power when what you say, believe, and do all align completely. Taurus energy rewards consistency, loyalty, and persistence that never wavers.
This is a time for focus and declaration. Write down what is desired as if it already happened. Speak with confidence, visualize success, and take immediate action that proves belief. The Universe moves faster when we act from certainty rather than waiting for signs.
Taurus connects spiritual alignment with practical action, teaching that belief holds power when expressed through consistency. Every step becomes magnetic, drawing new blessings into form.
By the time the next Supermoon rises, what is set in motion now will begin taking visible shape. Goals will show clear signs of progress and what we release will feel lighter to carry.
Keep energy grounded in gratitude as this light reaches its highest strength. The Moon magnifies thought and emotion, turning both into results that arrive fast. Gratitude multiplies blessings, opening paths that effort alone could never reach.
Move with purpose, make firm decisions, and trust the power of our actions. Keep our energy clean, our focus strong, and our belief steady, because the Universe is responds to every signal we send out. (Curated rom Alex Myles)
It’s the time of year for parent-teacher conferences in most school districts. I was thinking about the time my parents went to a meeting and they were told that I wasn’t living up to — or performing to — “my highest potential” which has been the story of my life’s path.
I was VERYVERY smart but I wasn’t doing as well as my teachers expected, especially in math and science. According to all of them, I was capable of great things and should pursue a career as a doctor and my dad also thought I’d be a great lawyer, following in his footsteps. I’m not exactly sure why I didn’t finish either of those life paths, although I sort of started down that road, maybe because there were obstacles in the way, like studying. lol. “I wasn’t applying myself” became the repetitive theme.
Those thoughts sent me on a rabbit hole to learn more about my own life path and numerology.
Numerology is the belief in the mystical relationship between numbers and events, used to interpret character or divine the future by calculating a person’s key numbers from their name and birth date. It is a system that assigns numerical values to letters and uses these values, along with your birth date, to provide insight into your personality and life path.
Modern numerology is often based on the ideas of the ancient Greek philosopher Pythagoras, who believed the physical world is a manifestation of the energetic vibrations of numbers.
In a crazy coincidence, I realized that I initially wrote about this subject exactly one year ago. Or maybe it’s not a coincidence, whatcha think?
Anyway, I have no regrets because It all worked out as it should.
Due to my not exactly poor, but not exactly stellar academic performance, and especially since I declined the gifted program because I saw how those kids were ridiculed for being nerds and I wanted to be COOL, I instinctively knew how to encourage the Original Angel Boy to love learning and reading and offered supportive nurturing opportunities anywhere he expressed an interest.
For example, when he was six-years-old and interested in dinosaurs, I took it a step further and brought him to the Natural History Museum so he could meet with the paleontologists. They included him in a project categorizing dino bones and gave him some fossils to bring home.
When he realized that the local paper had misnamed a dinosaur found around here, I called the paper and they sent a reporter and photographer to the house to interview him…and yes I still have about a dozen or so of the articles which I’ve shown to the Angel Kids. “Look at Daddy!”
When he wanted to be a reporter, I called the local radio station and set up a meeting with one of his favorite bands that were in town, Trixter, (don’t judge, it was the 90s). After he interviewed them on-air, they gave us backstage passes to the show and we hung out in their tour bus. They were really nice guys and very kind to the Angel Boy, only now I’m thinking to myself, why didn’t I do the same thing with Leon Russell? Another missed opportunity. SIGH.
Since Reading Rainbow with LeVar Burton was AB’s favorite TV show, he wrote a poem for a contest hosted by the local PBS station. All the local kids who participated were brought to the station and I still have the group photo. He won something, but not the national award. The only thing that mattered to me was that he TRIED, not whether he won or lost.
I did all this so he wouldn’t end up like me and it worked. He’s still passionate about learning, reading, and writing, and now he pays it forward by teaching the next generation, so I’m very proud of myself, and AB of course. His bright future was actualized and came to fruition.
Do you know how to figure out your Life Path and Master Numbers?
Add your birth date/day/year.
For example, if your date of birth is 2/12/1938…2+1+2+1+9+3+8 = 26, which is reduced to 2+6=8.
The Life Path number of 8 indicates someone with natural leadership skills, wealth potential, and management talent, but must always use that power for good and avoid greed. They excel at business and finance.
In this case, there is no Master Number because a MN is is a special type of life path number that is a double-digit (11, 22, or 33) and is not reduced to a single digit. I don’t really understand much of this, but it’s so interesting!
My own Life Path Number is 2 and my Master Number is 11, one of the most rare of all numbers, as it can be reduced to 2, my Life Path Number.
Here’s what it’s supposed to mean for me:
Diplomacy: Natural ability to mediate conflicts and bring people together.
Empathy: A deep emotional intelligence that allows them to understand and connect with others.
Cooperation: Thrive in partnership and group settings, working to create harmony.
Peacekeeping: Driven to seek and maintain peace, acting as a stabilizer in relationships and situations.
Master Number 11 is associated with high intuition, spiritual insight, and a duality that requires balancing a spiritual path with material life. It’s sometimes called the “Illuminator” or “Spiritual Messenger” and represents a gateway to higher dimensions. Individuals with this number may experience challenges such as confusion and indecision, which emanates from a struggle to trust their intuition and a pendulum-like oscillation between extremes.
To be completely honest, I literally have no idea what that means.
Why is the number 11 so powerful?
The number 11 symbolizes the potential to push the limitations of the human experience into the stratosphere of the highest spiritual perception; the link between the mortal and the immortal; between human and spirit; between darkness and light; ignorance and enlightenment. This is the ultimate power of the 11.
Once again, I’m reminded that I really never did reach my full promise, so those early teachers were obviously correct in their assessment.
Check out your own Life Path and Master Numbers so you can decide if you are living up to your maximum potential. It’s never too late.
We’re in the middle of Lions Gate Portal 2025, which occurs annually from around July 28 to August 12, and will peak tomorrow, August 8.
It’s an enchanted, magical period when the Earth, Sirius, and the Sun in Leo align in the cosmos, creating a powerful burst of energy.
Sirius, known as the “Dog Star,” is a beacon of light and wisdom. This alignment opens a gateway to higher energies, enhancing our intuition to help us connect with the divine.
This alignment is thought to amplify manifestation energy and encourage self-expression and authenticity. It’s a time when many believe we can tap into our inner power and manifest our desires.
This portal is supercharged by a rare cosmic phenomenon—the Major Lunar Standstill which occurs every eighteen years. There’s also a Full Sturgeon Moon on Saturday, August 9 — a lot going on! In fact, this full moon will be a special two-night event with the moon appearing full Friday and Saturday.
These events create a once-in-a-generation wave of celestial energy to enhance emotional healing, ancestral connection, and karmic closure.
The universe conspires to make our dreams come true. Isn’t that lovely?
it’s a powerful time for setting intentions and manifesting desires related to abundance, love, clarity, and positive transformation.
What can we do to enhance this enchanted celestial energy?
🪷 Meditate: To connect with our inner self and the portal’s energy.
🪷 Set Intentions: Clearly define our intentions and desires for manifestation.
🪷 Self-Reflect: Reflect on our current state and identify areas where we want to grow and transform.
🪷 Release: Let go of limiting beliefs and emotional blockages that may hinder our progress.
If I could, I’d wish everyone a happy 4th of July, but in our current USA climate of ICE kidnappings, lack of due process, total annihilation of our Bill of Rights and Constitution, it’s more of a sad, funereal, and tragic day than a celebration.
Instead, I’m looking to the skies for inspiration, hopefully some “as above, so below” joy, the kind you get from wishing upon a star…
Star light, star bright, First star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, Have the wish I wish tonight. ⭐
It’s time for Sirius to shine as the brightest most twinkliest star in the night sky. Also known as the Dog Star, it’s a binary star system consisting of Sirius A and Sirius B. Sirius is located 8.6 light-years from Earth in the constellation Canis Major.
Each year from July 3 to July 7, the Earth experiences a powerful energetic alignment known as the Sirius Portal. This five-day window marks a period of increased cosmic energy, spiritual awakening, and inner transformation.
During this time, the Sun aligns with the star Sirius, the brightest star visible from Earth, often referred to as our Spiritual Sun. Sirius has been revered by ancient cultures for thousands of years for its connection to divine intelligence, spiritual activation, and higher consciousness.
In astrology and energy work, this alignment is known to open a cosmic gateway or energy portal, allowing a flow of high-frequency light codes to reach Earth. These light codes are energetic patterns that support soul remembrance, intuition activation, emotional release, and vibrational upgrades on both a personal and collective level.
While this energy is available to everyone, those who are more energy sensitive or actively working on growth may feel it more strongly.
During the Sirius Portal, many people feel a mix of emotional, mental, and physical shifts. These are signs that your energy body is adjusting and upgrading in response to the alignment.
The energy coming through this gateway often reveals what needs healing, highlights what is ready to shift, and strengthens your connection to your higher self. It can be a time of deep insight, emotional clarity, and powerful intention-setting.
The Sirius Portal represents a connection between the Earth and higher realms of consciousness. While our physical Sun sustains life in the material world, Sirius is seen as a source of spiritual light, providing insight, healing, and guidance from the soul level.
This alignment is considered sacred as it opens a brief period where access to wisdom, clarity, and transformation becomes easier, faster, and more direct.
It is believed that spiritual downloads, energetic healing, and intuitive insights are more accessible during this time. People who actively work with this energy may experience a breakthrough, make an important decision, or feel deeply inspired to move forward with something they had been holding back.
To make the most of the Sirius Gateway, it helps to take time out to pause and reflect. This is a perfect time for journaling, meditation, or stillness. By asking focused questions, you open a dialogue with your higher self and invite answers that may come through thoughts, dreams, feelings, or synchronicities.
Here are some powerful questions to ask during this portal:
⭐ What parts of my life feel out of alignment with who I am becoming? ⭐ What am I ready to release so that I can grow emotionally or spiritually? ⭐ What would it feel like to fully trust my inner guidance right now?
Asking these questions from a place of curiosity, without pressure, allows answers to flow naturally. Sometimes they come right away. Other times, the answers appear gradually through signs, intuitive nudges, or conversations that confirm what you already feel inside.
While the Sirius Portal is deeply energetic, the way you respond to it physically and mentally will shape what you get from the experience. Choosing to be intentional during these five days helps direct the energy toward your goals.
You might take time out each day between July 3 and July 7 to do one or more of the following:
⭐ Write down one intention that you want to manifest before the end of the year. ⭐ Meditate on your highest self and visualize living your next-level life. ⭐ Clear out old clutter, thoughts, or habits that no longer match your direction. ⭐ Pay close attention to your dreams or signs and write them down immediately.
What we do, say, think, and feel during these days carries extra weight. Approach the portal with clear intentions, openness, and trust. Curated from Alex Myles
I guess all we can do is manifest and set intentions for a positive future with decent humans making better choices for us and our planet. Fingers crossed!
⭐ Best of all, I discovered a Leon Russell (as Hank Wilson) song about stars!
She anchored her heart to a shooting star and followed her dreams.
Of all the stars I admired, drenched in various rivers and mists, I chose only the one I love, Since then I sleep with the night. Pablo Neruda

Look up!
Starting tonight, there’s a spectacular celestial event in the night sky as six planets—Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, Saturn, and Venus—align in an exciting planetary parade.
On January 29, the New Moon will turn the skies even darker, enhancing visibility for all planets and stars. A telescope or binoculars will reveal the finer details of Uranus and Neptune, while the other planets shine brilliantly on their own. Curated from Alex Myles
When planets align—that’s when magic can happen. As above, so below!
2025 looks to be a turbulent year, at least politically, and it’s going to take the positive intentions of ho’oponopono to counteract this impending toxicity.
We’re also impacted by the energies of the rare black moon in Capricorn. Today is the second new moon of December which is sometimes called a “black moon,” just as the second of two full moons in a month is referred to as a “blue moon”.
We can anticipate positive amplified new beginnings, shadow work and self-reflection, heightened manifestation and transformations, and spiritual protection.
Ho’oponopono, the ancient practice of forgiveness, works by focusing on self-reflection and by repeating a simple mantra:
I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you, I love you.
This will cleanse negative energy within oneself and promote healing and reconciliation with others.
Ho’oponopono is based on the principle of taking total responsibility for one’s own experiences and the belief that we are all interconnected. By working on ourselves, we can positively impact the situations and people around us.
The word ho’oponopono roughly translates to “cause things to move back in balance” or to “make things right.” It’s a very zen concept. In native Hawaiian language, “pono” means balance, in the sense of life.
There are a few haoles (non-native, mostly white people) who seek to monetarily capitalize on this Hawaiian ritual by charging money to become certified in ho’oponopono. This is a pretty disgusting form of cultural appropriation and wholly unneccesary. The beauty of this practice is in its simplicity. Anyone can access the healing benefits by repeating the four sentences, silently or out loud.
