BEST Mantra for 2025: Ho’oponopono

2025 looks to be a turbulent year, at least politically, and it’s going to take the positive intentions of ho’oponopono to counteract this impending toxicity.

We’re also impacted by the energies of the rare black moon in Capricorn. Today is the second new moon of December which is sometimes called a “black moon,” just as the second of two full moons in a month is referred to as a “blue moon”.

We can anticipate positive amplified new beginnings, shadow work and self-reflection, heightened manifestation and transformations, and spiritual protection.

This is a perfect time to activate ho’oponopono.

Ho’oponopono, the ancient practice of forgiveness, works by focusing on self-reflection and
by repeating a simple mantra:

I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you, I love you.

This will cleanse negative energy within oneself and promote healing and reconciliation with others.

Ho’oponopono is based on the principle of taking total responsibility for one’s own experiences and the belief that we are all interconnected. By working on ourselves, we can positively impact the situations and people around us.

The word ho’oponopono roughly translates to “cause things to move back in balance” or to “make things right.” It’s a very zen concept. In native Hawaiian language, “pono” means balance, in the sense of life.

There are a few haoles (non-native, mostly white people) who seek to monetarily capitalize on this Hawaiian ritual by charging money to become certified in ho’oponopono. This is a pretty disgusting form of cultural appropriation and wholly unneccesary. The beauty of this practice is in its simplicity. Anyone can access the healing benefits by repeating the four sentences, silently or out loud.

I’m sorry
please forgive me
thank you
I love you

Stay Wild, Moon Child

“Stay wild, moon child. I will shine my full silver light on your path, Moon child. Trust your intuition and follow your dreams. When I go dark, go within and tend to yourself, set your goals and release what no longer serves. When I come out of the shadow Moon child, go, be brave, and to yourself stay wild and true.” Attributed to Riitta Klint

What’s unique about this moon is where it rises and sets — at the “most northerly and southerly positions on the horizon.” It’s a phenomenon that only occurs every 18.6 years. capecodtimes.com

This is called a major lunar standstill.

It’s mindblowing to think that my older Canon can capture this kind of detail, especially considering the moon is 239,000 miles away.

Low in the sky, not sure what caused the moon to be rust-colored, but it was gorgeous…

Fully risen; it was GLOWING:

Unlock The Power of The 12/12 Portal

This is a lucky day to manifest our hopes and dreams. The 12/12 portal of conscious awareness is one of the most potent energetic alignments of the year—a cosmic gateway carrying the frequency of divine alignment, spiritual awakening, and ascension.

Number ONE symbolizes individuality, leadership, ambition, and new beginnings. Reflects masculine energy: action, drive, and assertiveness.

Number TWO represents duality, partnership, cooperation, and intuition. Reflects feminine energy: nurturing, sensitivity, and balance.

Together as 1212, these numbers symbolize the harmonization of these opposing but complementary forces. Repeated, the sequence amplifies the need for equilibrium in all aspects of life — within ourselves, our relationships, and the collective consciousness.

The energy of the 1212 Portal doesn’t immediately dissipate — it can serve as a catalyst for shifts leading to the full moon on December 15 and the Winter Solstice on December 21. (Don’t forget we’re still under the influence of Mercury Retrograde until December 15, too!)

A full moon, retrograde, a solstice, and the 12/12 portal — that’s a LOT of potent planetary energy that’s happening at the same time. Take care of yourselves!

Here are some things we can do to access this dynamic 12/12 energy:

Set Intentions
Take time to reflect on what you want to create or release in your life. Write your intentions down or say them aloud—there’s power in putting your desires into words.

Meditate or Visualize
Quiet your mind and imagine stepping through a symbolic portal. What does your ideal life look and feel like? Visualizing it can help make it more tangible.

Practice Gratitude
Gratitude raises your vibration and aligns you with abundance. Reflect on what you’re thankful for and notice how it shifts your perspective.

Engage in Ritual
Light a candle, take a salt bath, or do something meaningful to mark the occasion. Rituals help anchor your intentions in the physical world.

Stay Open
Pay attention to synchronicities, dreams, or sudden insights around this time. Trust that these moments are guiding you toward clarity and growth.

Full Moon in Taurus

“Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.” —Buddha

The future of democracy might be uncertain but we can always count on the moon to wax and wane and become full again.

November’s full super moon is in my sign of Taurus and that brings us to a moment of deep release, grounded empowerment, and unexpected transformation.

This Full Moon isn’t a typical Taurean lunation—it’s charged with electrifying energy because of the moon’s conjunction with Uranus, the planet of rebellion and liberation.

In this, we are being shaken from our comfort zones and propelled toward needed change.

Alongside this energetic framework is a potent T-square involving Jupiter, Mercury, and Saturn urging us to re-evaluate our beliefs, thoughts, and the structures we live by.

Adding further intensity, Pluto sits at the critical 29th degree of Capricorn, a karmic placement pushing us to transform old patterns that no longer serve our growth.

This full moon is an invitation to step into our most empowered self while remaining grounded in our values and truth.  risingwoman.com

Easy full moon rituals:
Reflect on what you want to release.
Create a gratitude list for the past year.
Set intentions for personal growth.

Here’s a little reminder about some beneficial crystals :
Black Tourmaline for protection.
Amethyst for spiritual growth.
Moonstone to enhance intuition.
Sodalite for emotional balance.

Happy Full Moon!

To Look With Wonder

That’s me, always searching the sky for stars and last night’s supermoon, the largest one of the year.

Yup, I’m one of those “Look up at the moon; it’s incredible!” kind of people. Did you see it, too?

October’s full moon didn’t keep me awake like so many others do; maybe the additional magnesium glycinate I’ve been taking in the evening is actually working, and I hope so, because those moon dreams I experience are INSANE.

Each second, I am one second closer to leaving this planet
And so, I will
look at everything always
with wonder,
as though I am
seeing it for either
the first or the last time.
And I will choose to live in such a way,
that if this were my last second, I could die in peace
for I am proud of who I am
and let my final second show
how I have grown
and who I have become. — Tahlia Hunter

Full Moon Dreams

Art Marsis

This full moon + lunar eclipse sparked such wild dreams that I’m almost afraid to fall asleep. Has this happened to you?

Last night I dreamed that I was in a large supermarket which is kind of unusual for me because I do most of my real life shopping at Traders and Sprouts. I stood in the checkout line with a shopping cart full of food. When it was my turn to pay, I realized that I didn’t have any money or any credit cards; they had disappeared from my wallet. I was SO embarrassed and had to leave the store. People were watching me in that covert, silently judgmental way.

To make matters worse, I couldn’t locate my car. It’s not that I forgot where it was; my car had been stolen. When I thought about it, I realized that my credit cards had also been stolen, so I called the police, sat on the curb and waited.

That’s when I woke up.

I hate it when I don’t have a satisfactory resolution to my dreams; the feeling of loss and confusion can linger for hours after I wake up. Now I’ll never know who stole my car and credit cards. I’m still there, sitting on the curb, sad and stressed out.

I don’t even want to research the symbolism of that dream; I just want to forget it.

“Thanks, full moon, for a disturbing night’s sleep.”

Because I love to add music to posts, here’s Neil Young’s Harvest Moon:

If Each Day…

Since we’re on the precipice of September’s supermoon and a lunar eclipse, powerful cosmic energies unfold, encouraging us to reflect on the past and prepare for positive transformations.

Again, as above, so below. Are you ready?

Full Blue Moon Treasures

My day began with French roast coffee and a walk around the garden to check on newly sprouted lettuce seedlings.

I’m glad I did, otherwise I’m not sure I would have seen mommy dove stuck in a pile of fruit tree netting that had fallen to the ground. Oh no! She was really struggling to free herself while her baby was close by, silently watching, but unable to help.

After I untangled her and made sure she was ok, I told her I was very sorry she became trapped in the netting. Both of them stayed close so I sat down on the ground to hang out with them for a few minutes.

After that brief rescue, I thought I’d go for an early walk while it was still a bit overcast and the sun wasn’t yet blazing all of its damaging cancer rays directly at me.

Before I crossed the street that leads to the lagoon, I looked down on the sidewalk and spied this adorable sort of a heart-shaped rock. About a foot away, I noticed a dime and a penny, so I absolutely had to grab it all.

I mean, how could I not, right?

10+1 = 11, so I had a significant “11” message from the universe, along with a little heart love.

The number 11 is supposed to be a good sign, as it can represent a new beginning, spiritual growth, and guidance. In numerology, the number 11 is considered a master number with a high-frequency creative energy.

It all sounds incredibly encouraging as we are about to feel August’s full moon energies.

Since it’s also a dynamically charged blue moon, remember to take a moment to look up and connect with the power she transmits. It’s a rare and magical time to dream big, set intentions, and manifest joy.

As above, so below.

July’s Fancy Full Moon

She’s spectacular; full of drama.

“At night, I open the window
and ask the moon to come
and press its face against mine.
Breathe into me.
Close the language-door
and open the love-window.
The moon won’t use the door,
only the window.” — Rumi

Whale Songs

Along with today’s rare alignment of Mars conjunct Uranus in Taurus, one of the most impactful astrological events of the year, July’s full moon is next Sunday and I can already feel the energy, how about you?

My dreams are crazy intense. I dreamt of whales swirling all around, smiling at me. There were other, darker, sadder dreams that woke me up and gloomily lingered for the rest of the day, but the whales only brought a delightful yearning to speak to them and join in their song.

This is the juvenile California Gray Whale that became lost and almost dangerously stranded in our lagoon.

Lucky me got several super close up photos and videos. At one point, his eyes locked onto mine and I tried to mentally direct him back to the open ocean so he could join his mom. Eventually he did, but I’m sure I had nothing to do with it.

It was an otherworldly experience, as are all my whale and dolphin sightings. There is no greater joy than the exquisite joy that brings tears from our heart and soul.
